Also known as: my journey through procrastination!

Daily Creates:

Here is my daily create summary for week 3.  I didn’t really like my first few daily creates, as I feel like I didn’t really get to express my creativity.  I did really like doing the instruction post on quarter passing.  Hopefully I’ll make a few more of those in the future (maybe with recipes for food! Edible food!  Maybe even delicious edible food!).

What is storytelling?

Here I described what I believed to be a story.  After coming to look at past DS106 work and the work of other students in my class, I think storytelling might be a little more abstract than what I first described.  A story is much more difficult to nail down in terms of a concrete definition.  I’ll have to think a little harder on this notion in the future.

My five frame story

This was done earlier in the day, after the panther’s first quarter.  The Panthers would end up winning the game but let’s just say that the first quarter was less than adequate.  It was like opening a Christmas present only to find a note saying that your parents have divorced and that the New Orlean Saints were your new daddy and then having them run the ball all over your face (bad metaphor?).  Suffice it to say, I was sad and looking for an escape. You can garner the rest from the pictures.

Participation

Oof.  That thing I was not very good at.  Ok, I’m sorry I did not get to journey across more of your blog posts this week.  I don’t really have a good excuse other than I’m lazy and haven’t gotten into the full swing of the course yet.  BUT! I promise I will try harder to journey to more of your blogs this coming week and see how things are going.  From what I did see in the blogs I commented on/visited and lurked on I was quite impressed.  I didn’t star my google reader posts that I commented on (a decision which I have come to regret heavily), so I can only tell you that I commented on Twerkoo, Aetherbunny, and a few others (I know, that’s a big cop out).

Meanwhile: in the twitterverse!  I’ve started converting my previously rarely used twitter feed into a #ds106 beacon of light.  Here is my first real linking to a post:

That paint graph is awful!  But I’m pleased to announce that it has gotten 1 comment.

Also: That was the blog I attempted to get five comments on

Yeah, didn’t really accomplish what I set out to there.  Probably because I started so late today.  Part of it is I wasn’t feeling very creative on the rest of my posts, but I’m hoping in the coming weeks I’ll really get into the groove of everything.

Lessons learned from week 3:

DON’T PROCRASTINATE.  For real.  No lesson more learned from this week.  Looks like I’ll have to set aside some time in between cooking, baking, and schooling to make some comments and blog posts.  Really, I love the class other than my procrastination issues.  I’m looking forward to the coming assignments in week 4.  In the mean time, I will continue trying to dream up witty blog post titles and bad comedy for future blog posts!

Onwards to the future,
Nate Wine (aka AHomelyHomeless)
